2nd December 2025 – Buain an Ranaich.
It’s a song I learned in primary school and remember singing it the Rùm Bheag (P1-P4). This song is supposedly being sung by a fairy man who’s fallen in love with a human woman. She is forbidden to see him and he is now tired and lonely searching for her. Every day he’s cutting down bracken and wishing she was with him. In the last verse he is telling that when all the fairies are singing in the fairy knoll singing he is broken hearted and droning rather than singing. Oh and I do have backing vocals towards the end!
