6th December 2025 – Dèan Cadalan Sàmhach
This song was written by John MacRae (Iain Mac Mhurchaidh) from Kintail. He emigrated to South Carolina in 1774. In this song he sings to his daughter and asks her to sleep peacefully in a new country. He describes America as having dark endless forests that are fruitful in summer but with many dangers. The new country is so different to Scotland. He sends his greetings to Kintail in Scotland where he was raised.
